I've been thinking a little about the nature of the healtcare reform issue. Let's start by facing some realities.
#1. Americans love to send aid to other countries in time of natural disasters, but somehow seem to loathe the idea of helping their fellow countrymen.
#2. Fairly welll established fact through various independent media outlets and documentaries that the pharmacorps and insurance companies have experienced raging profits over the past 20 years, and elected officials have enjoyed the splendors of that profit race through major financial campaign contributions.
#3. Healthcare is NOT a luxury. It should be a human right.
My take on the situation is that it would seem as if the general American public somehow believes that our politicians sincerely want reform that will benefit the country as a whole. While there may be politicians who genuinely believe this such as the late Ted Kennedy, this simply isn't true. Let's not pretend that there are NOT politicians who are secretly collecting fat checks from the megacorps to slow down this process.
My prediction is fairly simple. Congress is acting in a way that to me suggests they have all the time in the world, and they think they understand what President Obama is made of. I do not believe they fully understand the depths of our leaders personality.
I keep reminding myself of what happened in the first 90 days of office when President Obama was faced with the Somali pirate issue and didn't really hesitate to make the call and have a SEAL Team take them out and retake control of our vessel. It is my prediction that if Congress really thinks they are playing with a politician of the normal kind they are severely wrong.
President Obama is highly intelligent and I can't help but to get the impression that our great leader would not hesitate to use the FULL power granted to him by the Constitution if neccessary to bust up the megacorps influence on our government.
Put less eloquently, if they dont quit fucking around and dawdling they are going to feel the full wrath of a leader who won't hesitate to put a politcal foot up all their asses.
